Jessie May nurses are all trained in hospice care and aim to become involved with each child or young person and family as soon as possible after diagnosis. This helps to build a strong relationship based on confidence and trust.

The Team provides

• planned visits to their home to look after the child or young person

• hospital visits to give the family a break from the bedside

• help with administration of medicines

• palliative care and symptom control to help make life more comfortable when there is no cure

• play and stimulation to help developmental needs professional and practical advice

• 24 hour terminal care in the home in partnership with other medical support
